Robert Palmer, JP (31 January 1793 24 November 1872) was an English gentleman from Berkshire and ToryConservative Member of Parliament. [1 The son of Robert Palmer Senior and Jane Bowles, he lived at Holme Park in Sonning.His grandfather Robert Palmer, a London attorney, prospered as the longserving principal agent to the dukes of Bedford. He bought Hurst Lodge in 1742, and subsequently acquired property on the nearby manors of Sonning, Berkshire, and Sonning Eye, across the river in Oxfordshire. robert palmer sonning
